  • For reference, we went to animal kingdom, Hollywood studios, and magic kingdom.
  • At animal Kingdom the kids loved the safari ride. The giraffes came right up to you in the car. After that I struggled with finding rides to do with young kids. If your children are not obsessed with animals I would recommend going to a different park.
  • For younger kids I recommend Magic Kingdom above all of the other parks because they seem to have the most rides suitable for young kids (6 and younger). They also have Mickey, all Disney characters, and princesses there. This seems to be the best park to experience “Disney magic.”
  • Use the Disney app throughout your stay. Bring an external phone charger because you’ll be on your phone all day and your battery will get low. In the app I can give you directions to different rides, the wait times, and information on each ride such as height requirements and any scary elements you should be aware of for your kids. I took my daughter on a couple rides I would not have if I had read the information more closely in the app. Lesson learned!
  • At Magic Kingdom they do parades every hour for the Disney characters and princesses. They only go there one side of the park though so be sure you check the app on her entertainment to see the times and stay on the left side of the park or the Main Street (near cinderella‘s castle) to see the parades. Ask a park worker how to see the parade if he can’t find it. I had to because it’s not very easy to find.
  • We bought the park jumper which is only $40 more to be able to go to another park at 2 PM. Even if the park is at capacity we were able to get in. I am told they have yet to tell someone they are not able to get in because of capacity with the park hopper. For me this was a great choice because we were able to go to another park in the afternoon and experience two places, even if only for a couple hours.
  • We stayed at happily ever after Playhouse which was only 10 minutes from the parks. The house was amazing and the kids actually wanted to go back to the house while we were at Disney because they had so much fun playing with the toys in each room!
  • I bought a foldable $25 car seat off Amazon to be able to take an Uber to the parks. For me this was the best choice because we did not have to pay for parking which is $25 and we were dropped off right at the front of the park. It also let us hop to a different park and be able to leave straight from there, rather than needing to go back to the original park to get our car. I definitely recommend taking an Uber to the parks if you are close by. If you have two adults with you, bring two backpacks for the park so you can put the foldable car seat in each backpack and share the weight. My backpack got pretty heavy for me throughout the day.
  • You can bring food and drinks into the park. I brought a small cooler in my backpack and put frozen waters in there to keep the food cold and drink when they melted. I brought crustables, granola bars, and apple squeezers for the kids to have as a snack. It worked out well for me.
  • We had the kids walk in the AM and got a stroller after lunch. The strollers there were great and very light weight. I liked having the kids stroller free in the morning and then be able to sit and rest in afternoon afternoon when they were tired. However, if your kids do not like to walk for a long distance I would definitely recommend a stroller for the whole day. Most of the parks have a place to put your stroller next to each ride. Magic Kingdom was a little bit more spread out with the stroller areas but I found it still to be pretty easy to manage with a stroller.
  • Lastly, a lot of people have reached out asking what is the best age to take your kids. To me, it is less about their age and more about their height to ride the rides and if they will be scared or not. Look at the website and height requirements before you go. Also, if your child is scared of loud noises and the dark, you might want to give it some time before you go. My kids were pretty scared of most rides and we ended up just walking around the park most of the time. However, we did have a lot of Disney magic seeing the characters at Magic Kingdom! To get the most of your money for each ticket (which is very expensive!) I'd recommend waiting until you can ride the majority of the rides with your kids.
